The foundation of this artwork is a repetitive and structured use of squares that brings about a sense of security and stability in the viewer. It’s balanced, it’s uniform, it’s expected and therefore conjures up feelings of contentment. Soft and subdued pink and brown tones have been selected to enhance this, relating to comfort and assurance.
Yet, there’s a playfulness that’s been injected into the artwork by the triangular forms that emerge from the painting technique. These provide a striking contrast to the methodical use of the squares and brings a sense of movement to the artwork with the vivid, pastel purple adding to this energy.
Recommended for a space where you might go to be calm or thoughtful.
